"Pupils enjoy coming to school and demonstrate enthusiasm for learning. They appreciate their teachers who make learning fun. Music provision is of a particularly high quality, and every pupil learns an instrument. Pupils also enjoy the many musical opportunities they have, such as the orchestra road trips and the lunchtime choir that is led by pupils in Year 5."

Luke completed a PGCE in Primary Education from Leeds University in 2013 before moving back to London, where he has been working in schools since. After a few years experience in the classroom, Luke became Head of Music across a 5-school academy trust in North London where he currently leads whole class music sessions, assemblies, instrumental lessons and workshops to children aged 4-11. Alongside this Luke delivers training to teachers on how to deliver music lessons, including having designed the handbook and training for student teachers at the 2SchoolsConsortium, and delivering a talk at the Music and Drama Education Expo 2025.

In 2022-24 Luke completed an MA in music psychology, passing with a distinction, to help understand the processes behind learning and teaching music. With responsibility for both teaching and leading of music, Luke designed a curriculum for the schools within the academy with appropriate plans and resources for all levels. The curriculum draws upon all aspects of music and aims to garner a creative love of music in the children that will also influence their academic improvement across all curriculum areas. Luke regularly leads whole class sessions on a range of media, such as Recorder, Ukulele, African drums, Keyboard, Choir, GarageBand, collaborative composition, theory and much more.

As a trained Arts Award Advisor Luke also has the ability to lead community music sessions with accredited certification from Trinity College. Luke is passionate to improve music outcomes for all ages and acknowledges that a key area to support this is through continuing professional development of staff through meetings based on subject knowledge, facilitating instrumental lessons and overall music curriculum design. Luke also uploads a range of support videos to YouTube to assist with the teaching and learning of key musical elements.
